FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Why should I hire a sleep consultant?

You’ve read all the books about sleep, have done what your mom and friends recommended, and yet, your child still isn’t sleeping well at night.

As a sleep consultant, I provide you with a customized sleep plan tailored to your family’s needs and personal support to guide you along the entire sleep process. My work doesn’t end until you’ve reached your sleep goals.

  • When is the right time to start sleep training?

My best response is, when are YOU ready to start teaching your child independent sleep skills? Formal sleep training isn’t recommended until your baby is at least 4 months old.

However, you can start teaching your baby healthy sleep skills as soon as they’re born. Or, if you’re the type that prefers to get a head start, I can help you too! I offer a variety of sleep packages categorized by age.

Take a peek at the Work With Me page to find more information about each sleep package.

  • What sleep methods

    do you use?

I use a variety of sleep methods, depending on the family's specific needs and preferences.

The sleep plan is based on the information I gather from the sleep evaluation call and the comprehensive questionnaire.

You can rest assured that together we will pick a method that you’re comfortable with and confident implementing.

  • Will my baby cry?

When you’re changing your child’s sleep routine and what they’re familiar with and accustomed to, there will be some protest.

It’s their way of communicating with you and expressing their frustration with the new changes.

Unfortunately, I can’t tell you how much or how long they are going to cry, but I will never ask you to just shut the door and ignore their cries. I do not use a cry it out approach.

I guarantee that I will develop a sleep plan that’s centered around your sleep preferences and goals.

  • Can I breastfeed while doing the program?

ABSOLUTELY! Among other things, lack of sleep can affect a mother’s milk supply, and not to mention, her demeanor.

On the contrary, if mama is rested and the baby is napping and sleeping well at night, your breastfeeding relationship will strengthen because your baby won't be irritable and overtired.

As a neonatal nurse, I’m aware of the importance of establishing a sound feeding relationship with your baby.

  • When will I start

    to see results?

All children learn at a different pace, and the same applies when acquiring new sleep skills. It takes time for the body to adjust to a new bedtime routine and sleep schedule.

For this reason, the more consistent and committed you are, the quicker you’ll start to see progress.

  • What if the program does not work for my child?

This is very unlikely. If you are being consistent, have a positive attitude, and are following the recommended guidelines, you will be successful.

We'll be communicating regularly, you'll have my support and guidance throughout the entire duration of the sleep plan, and I'll be analyzing your child's sleep trends to make sure progress is being made.

  • What if I don’t live locally, can you still help me?

Thanks to modern technology, I can help you regardless of where you reside.

All services are conducted via Zoom (video conference), Voxer (walkie talkie app) and email.
